Global competition for REE is intensifying as climate goals drive record demand for critical metals. At the same time, China dominates production, prompting the Western world to seek new suppliers. Nordic Iron Ore (NIO) sees an opportunity to contribute by exploring the potential for REE as by-products in our iron ore projects.
We do not believe REE in our projects will stand alone as a separate business. At best, these critical raw materials could become a valuable by-product in the production of our ultra high-grade iron ore concentrate. This aligns with our strategy to support Europe’s green transition by maximizing the potential of our deposits.
